The only thing we need to do is wake up, put workout clothes on, and invest 45 minutes into a solid warm up, stretch, and workout that will allow us to feel happier and healthier.
Why is it that time gets in the way of working out? Time commitments and other routines are two things that interfere with everyone’s workout ‘plan’.
Time is valuable to everyone. We all have 24 hours in one day, and we all chose to manage those 24 hours differently. If being healthy is a priority, then the time dedicated to making sure that you achieve 30 mins of physical activity a day is easy!
Okay, so why is it easy for me to say this? Health is my number one focus and I know that my health is dependent on the happiness I create in my life. This is all easier said than done.
Here’s a little exercise: Assign a number from 1-10 to your desire of wanting to look and feel good right now in this very moment; 10 being wanting it REALLY REALLY REALLY badly. Okay, what number did you chose?
If your number is 5 or below, ask yourself some questions about what you’re purpose is here on this planet we call earth. If you don’t want to feel good, then you don’t want to BE good, and its unlikely you want to improve yourself or habits any time soon. WARNING: This is dangerous place to be in.
If its 6 or higher, ask yourself if you let time interfere with your workout routine. If it’s a 10, ask yourself if you are maximizing your workouts?
You don’t have to be in the gym for hours to look and feel good. You don’t have to train/run a marathon to look and feel good. All you need is some heavy breathing (get your mind out of the gutter) and an increased heart rate for 30 minutes and this alone will boost your mood. Repeat this every day and you will prolong your life.
This is all old news for most of us. You’re probably saying, “yeah yeah Joia, I know I need to work out!”
If its old news, then why is ‘time’ and other obligations getting in the way?
People get scared of the commitment, they don’t know how to maximize, and they don’t have a support group that encourages them to do so.
Commitment. go back to your number.
5 or lower: there are other things we need to address first, we need to work on increasing that desire.
6 or highers: make a promise to yourself and then KEEP IT that you’re going to start small and you’re going to AT LEAST get 30 minutes of walking in every day. This will give you the energy and desire to start incorporating other activities.
Don’t know how to maximize your workouts in 30 minutes: research apps or start to work with a coach. Maximizing your 30 minutes means dedication and focus. What are your goals and then give yourself a REASONABLE time frame to complete it.
Don’t have a support group that encourages you: if people don’t desire to be healthy, then they probably aren’t feeling good deep down. Surround yourself with like-minded people who share the same goals.
A healthy life is a successful life. You’re desire to feel good today, reflects how much you want to feel good and succeed in life EVERYDAY!
